Director Andrew Adamson and his crew employ all their technical expertise in bringing to life C.S. Lewis’s classic story of four British children who step through the doors of a magic wardrobe one hot, sunny day to find themselves in the snow-covered world of Narnia, which is filled with talking animals, centaurs, fauns, and a host of other mythological creatures. A talking beaver soon tells the children they are part of a prophecy that will end the rule of an evil white witch and see them seated at the
castle of
Cair Paravel as kings and queens of Narnia. For that prophecy to be fulfilled, though, they will need the help of the great ruler from overseas, Aslan the lion, who created Narnia and is returning to help end the reign of the white witch and place the children on their thrones. The film chronicles the development of these children as they gain confidence, courage, and maturity in the face of great responsibility. And they learn an invaluable lesson about how great a sacrifice true love is willing to make and how much true love can achieve.
